Cary Park and the rest of Western Cary is now connected directly to the middle of Cary with the extension of Morrisville Parkway.     The road connects from Hwy 55 through Davis Drive to Chapel Hill.   Although the “back roads” are pretty, it will now be easier to get to the new shops and restaurants at High House and Davis, and around the intersection of Hwy 54 and Cary Parkway.    A wide outside lane to accommodate bicycles was added as well as sidewalks.   The road will also redirect traffic around several residential neighborhoods including Preston Village and Heritage Pines, rather than through them.   Great news for West Cary and for the thriving Cary Real Estate Market!

Update on the Wrenn Property in NW Cary

The œWrenn Property is located near Yates Store and New Hope Church Road in NW Cary NC.   Part of the land borders on Cary Park.   The 18 acre parcel was purchased by a developer in anticipation of building 38 single family new homes in Cary.   The lots sizes are approximately .4 acre and are suitable for luxury homes with side entry 3 car garages.   Baker Residential, the same builder that is building the beautiful stone and brick homes in Horton™s Creek  planned to purchase the land begin building on the land after initial land preparation was complete.  There has been some clearing of roads and a little shifting and grading, but the land is largely untouched and still as beautiful as ever.   To date no building permits have been issued.

As with many ambitious real estate plans, the builders and investors have decided to hold off until the real estate market balances back in to equilibrium between home sellers and home buyers.   The last few years have clearly been a buyer™s market.    The Town of Cary has extended time period in which previously granted planning decisions must be acted upon in light of current conditions; in some cases from 2 to 5 years.   Therefore, there is no immediate timeframe in which the builders of this property or others you may be wondering about have to take action.   The Wrenn Property is available for sale, however Baker Residential has first right of refusal in the event another builder comes forward.   It is my hope that Baker Residential builds on the land as the neighborhood would add additional charm and even more luxury homes to NW Cary NC.
